Despite the cold weather we decided to take a long walk along the coast. After a 10 minute walk from our apartment we arrived at Gwangali 광안리 beach
Gwangali is a big tourist area with the Diamond bridge offshore so there’s plenty of gleaming buildings and neon at night. Walk a little east and you enter Millak 민락 which is a little more traditional with a big fish market area

After Millak, just across the Suyeong river you are reminded again of Korea’s modernity as Marine City comes into view

Haeundae beach coming into view
After walking through Dongbaek 동백 park which has wonderful views of the coast, we come upon the most famous beach in the country – Haeundae 해운대. Even in freezing temperatures, it still draws a crowd

Continuing east we reached the end of our walk – an area just before Dalmaji hill – we’ll explore this area when it’s a bit warmer
