We were quickly growing to love Chiang Mai as we’ve had an awesome first few days here. Then came the festivities for Loi Krathong and Yi Peng. The entire town was lit up with lanterns, parades and fireworks.

These paper lanterns have a flame underneath them that sends them floating up in to the sky.

Another tradition is releasing these floating offerings (Krathong in Thai) into the river.

On our final day, we went to the zoo where the main attraction was a pair of newborn panda cubs.

We stayed in Chiang Mai for five nights and had such a wonderful time! Now it’s time to move on to a new country for us before looping back around into Thailand later.
