Hoi An – Beaches, Suits and Cooking Classes

Hoi An, Vietnam

After Mui Ne, we back tracked to Saigon to meet up with my mom. I was incredibly relieved to get my new bank card that I could use to get cash in local ATMs. We then took a flight to Danang in the middle of Vietnam followed by a quick bus ride to Hoi An.

Hoi An is a very relaxed town known for their tailors who can custom make any type of clothing.

Just like Mui Ne, we arrived right after a massive typhoon slammed this region. You can see the flood mark above my hand in the picture below.

The weather was fine now and we rented bicycles to ride around the town and hit the beach, Cua Dai.

Hoi An also has a very popular cooking school called the Red Bridge Cooking School. The day starts off with a trip to the local market to pick out fresh ingredients.

Next, we went to the very serene setting of the cooking school, which included a large outdoor kitchen.

We learned how to make homemade pho, papaya salad and several other delicious dishes.
