A group of about 15 of us hiked to the top of Jangsan 장산, a mountain about a 15 minute walk from the Jangsan subway station at the terminus of line 2.
At the base, you can see the Koreans with their very serious hiking gear. Those machines they are using blast air to remove the dirt from your shoes.
There were sweeping views of Busan. As the sun set, the temperature dropped to around freezing
There was even a random climbing wall. You have to be careful as there are active military bases on the mountain and many signs that warn about straying off the paths and the presence of land mines.
We reached the top past dark. Coming from sea level, we did a 1,900 foot (630 meter) elevation climb. I set up my tripod at the peak and snapped away
