The best part about El Nido is the gorgeous Bacuit archipelago just offshore. Amazing tropical beaches and reefs are a big draw for the island hopping tours that can be booked anywhere. There are some other things to do in the actual town of El Nido too.
Kayaking is fun if you want to get to some of the closer islands on your own steam

Back in El Nido, the streets are quiet and the action revolves around the beach

At night, seafood bbq stands fire up and tables and chairs are set up on the sand
Cockfighting is huge in the Philippines. Any town worth its salt will have a cock pit for fighting roosters. Gambling is rampant and there’s even a channel on TV which seems to be dedicated to cockfighting 24/7. Fight footage is even shown in slow motion.
