On a crisp autumn afternoon we went back to Beomeosa 범어사 Temple. We went in the freezing cold back in February and we were very happy to be back with the fall foliage all around.
Originally built in the 600’s, Beomeosa was burnt down during the Japanese invasion in the 1590’s. The monks were famous for resisting and fighting the Japanese.
Beomeosa in the dead of winter:
Here is in November:
To get to the temple, take Line 1 of the subway to Beomeosa station and go out exit 5. Look for Bus 90 (shown in the first picture) which will take you right to the main entrance.
The grounds are sprawling as there are over 300 buildings that house close to 1,000 monks.
Now check out the same shot on a very cold February day:
Afterwards, we ate some delicious oyster pajeon 굴파전 to warm us up a bit.
