We packed up and bid farewell to Ubud before heading back down to south Bali – specifically Nusa Dua, which is just east of Kuta. This area is known for its mega luxury resorts, but we managed to find a pretty inexpensive place called Alam Bali.
The pool area was very nice but the rooms were pretty sparse. Our bathroom door was see-through! Any person in the bed could see the person on the toilet even with the door closed.
Nusa Dua is a peninsula just east of the Kuta area where we stayed when we first arrived in Bali. The beaches of Nusa Dua were not very nice – too much seaweed and really shallow when the tide goes out. As a result, we took a cab to Jimbaran, which is famous for it’s seafood restaurants that have tables right on the beach.
After 4 nights in Ubud, which you can see from the map above is not on the water, it was nice to be back on the beach. We swam around and grabbed a table for some sunset bintangs and seafood.
The next day was a nice relaxing pool and beach day again while we arranged transport to Gili Trawangan.
