Our friend Amy, from Minnesota, is having a birthday and she wanted everyone to go ice skating together. I’ve never done this but gave it a shot. The main outdoor theater for the BIFF (Busan International Film Festival) converts to an ice rink in December.

I don’t think many people know about this setup since the place was dead on a Saturday night. It was also the last weekend before Christmas day, so maybe people were too busy shopping
Here’s some action shots

I’m not the most graceful ice skater, so it’s probably a good thing there weren’t many people around to potentially collide with.
After ice skating, we went to Gwangali beach for a birthday dinner
The next night, we decided to check out the Christmas decorations in Nampo-dong 남포동. About 30% of Koreans classify themselves as Christians, which is about equal to the number of Buddhists.
The streets of nampo-dong were packed with people doing last minute shopping and viewing the decorations.
Kids were singing Christmas songs on the stage
Merry Christmas from Korea!
