Songjeong 송정Beach and a Lotte Baseball game

We packed our beach bags and hopped on our bikes to ride to our favorite beach in Busan – Songjeong 송정 beach. It’s not on the subway line like the other 4 major beaches so it’s significantly less crowded. It’s also very popular with surfers.

On the way, we took the scenic route on Haeundae’s path right next to the sand

This is Haeundae 해운대 beach – the most popular in Korea. We didn’t stop here – just rode down the path next to it.

After a strenuous ride up Dalmaji hill (one of the places I took my mom when she visited), we got a great view of Songjeong beach just below.

Next came the fun part – the downhill section that goes down to the beach

We hung out here all day and then rode back to Haeundae. There was tons of trash on the sand until an army of trash pickers come along and cleaned it up just before sunset.

We rode back and took the scenic route around Marine City – an outcropping full of luxury condo buildings that offers great views on the bridge.

Baseball season is in full swing so we went to a game against the SK Wyverns with some friends at Sajik 사직 stadium.

Since our Korean is not so good, we can only blame ourselves for getting tickets on the opposing team’s side!

Remember Busan’s home team is the Lotte Giants – Baseball teams in Korea are named after major corporations (called Chaebol).
