Ao Nang and Railey Beach

After three days in hectic Bangkok taking in the cultural sights of the big city, we took a quick one-hour AirAsia flight down south to Krabi province. A quick drive from the airport is the beach town on Ao Nang.

There are a plethora of bars and restaurants tucked along the beach, and the most popular activity is to beach bum or take long-tail boat rides to the islands nearby.

The weather was quite gloomy for the three days we were here and this definitely takes away from the fun of a beach town. On Ao Nang’s beach, there are a ton on macaques (monkeys) that have come to be comfortable around the tourists.

On another day we went on an island hopping tour that included Railey (not an island), which is famous among rock climbers for it’s sheer karst cliffs.

Railey also had some friendly beach monkeys.
